//SustainWiki// ist eine digitale Recherche- und Wissensplattform, die darauf abzielt, Zusammenhänge, Abhängigkeiten und Anschlussfähigkeit wissenschaftlicher Publikationen und durchgeführter Projekte im Kontext der 17 Nachhaltigkeitsziele (SDGs) strukturiert darzustellen. Ziel ist es, die Vielzahl an existierenden Forschungs- und Praxisbeiträgen nicht nur auffindbar, sondern auch in ihrem systemischen Zusammenspiel nachvollziehbar und nutzbar zu machen.

Die Plattform richtet sich an Personen und Institutionen, die anwendungsorientierte Lösungen für komplexe gesellschaftliche, ökologische oder ökonomische Herausforderungen suchen. Ausgehend von einem konkreten Problem oder Themenfeld schlägt SustainWiki auf Basis bestehender Arbeiten passende Lösungsansätze vor – darunter wissenschaftliche Studien, Modellprojekte, Best Practices oder prototypische Anwendungen. Diese Ergebnisse werden nicht isoliert dargestellt, sondern in einem Netzwerk von Vor- und Nachprojekten eingeordnet, das mögliche Entwicklungspfade, Synergien oder kritische Übergänge sichtbar macht.

Im Zentrum steht ein intelligenter Vorschlagsmechanismus, der dem Prinzip folgt: Wer sich für eine bestimmte Herangehensweise entscheidet, erhält im nächsten Schritt Projekte oder Erkenntnisse vorgeschlagen, die zeitlich, thematisch oder methodisch daran anschließen – oder ihr vorausgehen. Damit wird der Zugang zu Wissen nicht nur inhaltlich, sondern auch im Hinblick auf Umsetzbarkeit und Weiterentwicklung strukturiert. Das unterstützt gezieltes Handeln, vermeidet Redundanzen und fördert innovative Anschlussprojekte.

Ziel ist es, nachhaltigkeitsorientierte Forschung und Praxis über Fachgrenzen hinweg stärker zu vernetzen, systematisch nutzbar zu machen und damit ihre Wirksamkeit im Sinne der SDGs zu erhöhen. Die Plattform baut dabei auf Kooperationen mit Forschungseinrichtungen, Praxisakteuren sowie kleinen und mittleren Unternehmen (KMU) auf. Je mehr Projekte und Publikationen eingebunden sind, desto höher ist der Nutzen für alle Beteiligten – und desto größer das Potenzial für übergreifende Nachhaltigkeitswirkungen.

//SustainWiki// is a digital research and knowledge platform designed to map the interconnections, dependencies, and transferability of scientific publications and completed projects within the framework of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The aim is to make the wealth of existing research and practice-based contributions not only discoverable but also understandable and applicable in their systemic interplay.

The platform targets individuals and institutions seeking practical solutions to complex societal, ecological, or economic challenges. Starting from a specific problem or area of interest, SustainWiki suggests relevant solution approaches based on existing work—ranging from academic studies and model projects to best practices or prototypical applications. These results are not presented in isolation but embedded within a network of preceding and subsequent projects that reveal potential developmental paths, synergies, or critical transitions.

At the core lies an intelligent recommendation system that follows the logic: once a particular approach is selected, the platform proposes further projects or findings that either precede or build upon it—chronologically, thematically, or methodologically. In doing so, knowledge is structured not only in terms of content but also in terms of applicability and further development. This supports targeted action, avoids redundancies, and fosters the creation of meaningful follow-up projects.

The overarching goal is to strengthen the cross-disciplinary integration and usability of sustainability-related research and practice, thereby increasing their overall effectiveness in contributing to the SDGs. The platform is developed in collaboration with research institutions, practitioners, and small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The more projects and publications that are integrated, the more powerful the platform becomes—enhancing knowledge transfer, innovation, and sustainable impact.
